Are women welcome from outside Asheville?
Membership is open to women of all ages who reside in or are planning to relocate to Asheville or the surrounding areas.  We welcome women who are interested in meeting new people and participating in the activities of the club. 

How can I learn more about Asheville Newcomers Club? 
Attend a monthly meeting (2nd Monday morning of each month) or a member coffee gathering.

What is the age range of the club's members?
All ages are welcome to join. 

Is there a limit on how long a member can belong to the club?
No. 
Unlike some “newcomer” organizations,  the Asheville Newcomers Club places no limits on length of membership.

What are the benefits of membership?

  • Monthly meetings with guest speakers and time to meet with fellow members.
  • Participation in a wide variety of special interest group activities and club-sponsored events.  
  • Password-controlled access to the members only section of the club's website.
  • Electronic receipt of the monthly newsletter and communications. 

How long does my membership last?

  • The club's fiscal year begins July 1st and concludes June 30th of the following year.  
  • New members can join anytime during the fiscal year and will be charged a pro-rated non-refundable membership fee. 
  • To continue an active membership, all members pay an annual renewal fee prior to the beginning of the club's fiscal year.   

How do I join?

  • You can join the club online and pay the new membership fee by credit card only through PayPal.  It’s quick and easy.  You have immediate access to the member's only section of the website, newsletter, participation in special interest groups and club sponsored events and more!  Click to JOIN.
  • You can complete a paper copy of the New Membership form and pay the requisite pro-rated, non-refundable fee with exact cash or check at a monthly club meeting.  Stop by the Membership table for details.  Questions?  Contact the Membership Committee at  ashevillenewcomers@gmail.com
What is an interest group activity?
An interest group activity is a members-only opportunity to meet others with common interests and generally takes place weekly or monthly. The club offers a wide range of interest groups and is always open to adding more. Any current active member may propose and/or volunteer to coordinate a new or existing interest group. See Activities for a sample of our offerings.

What is an event?
Events vary in theme and are held throughout the year at different locations in the area.  A portion of the expense is subsidized by the club; members pay a reduced fee to attend.  Members are notified by email about event details, cost and registration.  Payment can be made online or by check.. 

Who can attend events and interest group activities?
Members may bring one guest to an event if specified. Most interest group activities are for members only, although some activities, like Couples Dining allow one guest.  

What are club rules and governance?

  • The club is a non-profit, women’s social organization registered with the State of North Carolina and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors  elected annually from and by the membership. 
  • The club adheres to written Bylaws.  Minutes from quarterly BOD meetings are posted on the members-only website.
  • The club prohibits the promotion or solicitation of business interests or advertising of any kind at its activities or events or on the website. 
  • Each member agrees to the terms of the club’s Hold Harmless Agreement at the time they become a member as well as each annual renewal. 
  • Our club's Member Directory and private Facebook page are confidential and to be used for club purposes only.
